LG DOW Polycarbonate Ltd.

  is a joint venture between LG Chemical, the leading Chemical Company in Asia and The Dow Chemical Company, the largest Chemical Company in the world. LG-DOW was formed in early 1999. Almost 2 ¨ö years later, on July 1st, 2001, LG-DOW celebrated the successful start-up of the LG-DOW polycarbonate plant in Yeosu, Korea, and the transfer of Dow's polycarbonate market franchise in Asia Pacific.


 LG-DOW is built on the strength and capabilities of the two parent companies. It combines the knowledge and experience of two global plastic leaders with the flexibility to meet the needs of local customers. In Asia, LG-DOW is uniquely capable of delivering proven polycarbonate technology, the benefits associated with the worldwide CALIBRE* Polycarbonate Resins, which are developed by The Dow Chemical Company and has been offering top quality products and services to customers in Korea, China, Southeast Asia and the local logistics flexibility to meet the just-intime demands of a diverse customer base.

 With a second train being commissioned in September 2007, LG-DOW total output capacity is 170,000 metric tons per annum. LG-DOW has introduced higher quality products for applications in CD-ROM, LCD panels, high purity films and 19-litre bottles.
